Join the Jesuit Retreat Center for the next 100 years

It’s amazing that in a few short years, there will be a centennial celebration for the Jesuit Retreat Center.

Think about it. A billiards room was transformed into a chapel and the first Mass was celebrated on March 15, 1925 at Retiro San Iñigo — the St. Ignatius Retreat. The first retreatants gathered at Retiro San Iñigo and now some their grandchildren and great grandchildren come to the Retreat Center to experience quiet times. That’s quite a testament to the wonderful generational nature of this special place of prayer and contemplation.

Those first retreatants remain part of the Jesuit Retreat Center by the way we remember them. As part of our on-going desire to learn more about you and those who have remembered us with a legacy, estate or planned gift, we have created the El Retiro Society.

Be part of the next 100 years by joining the El Retiro Society. Just notify the Jesuit Retreat Center of Los Altos that you have remembered JRC in your plans, and you are a member.

Being a Legacy Society member involves no dues, obligations, or solicitations. It does allow us to thank you and recognize you for the plans you have made, and it may inspire generosity in others.

El Retiro Benefits include:

• Invitation to the Annual Mass and Dinner

• Recognition in our El Retiro Society Honor Roll (unless you chose to be anonymous)

• A connection to other El Retiro Society members who support JRC in the present and future

• The most important benefit you will receive from joining the El Retiro Society is the satisfaction derived from making a lasting contribution to our long-term growth.

Enjoy legacy giving now

1. A wise and flexible way to give

Legacy gifts offer valuable tax benefits. Whether a bequest, a will or trust, a designation in a retirement plan or life insurance policy, making a legacy gift is a wise way to give.

2. Support what matters most

Legacy donors may designate gifts to an area of personal significance including direct support of a program. Many gifts are unrestricted, which helps JRC address the most pressing needs.

3. Make it easy

Beneficiary designations can be made in any amount and will be valued forever.

4. Be Counted

Let us recognize you today. When you inform us of your gift, you are also making a powerful statement to family and friends about the role that God and philanthropy plays in your life. As a member of the El Retiro Society, you will be counted among the Retreat Center’s greatest blessings.
