“You got who?”
I was telling a friend of mine about our speaker for the JRC virtual event that is coming up in July. She raised an eyebrow, not because she didn't know who the speaker is but because she was duly impressed.
JRC is presenting “An Evening with Father Greg Boyle” on Thursday, July 15 at 6 pm. This is a virtual fundraising event for the Jesuit Retreat Center.
My friend is a missionary and although not Catholic subscribes to the Homeboy Industries newsletter has a couple of Father Boyle's books and wanted to know his topic. Be Fearless for Me: Courage and the Gospel of the Marginalize, I told her.
Needless to say, she is a fan and rightly so.
Father Greg Boyle is well known for his expertise in social justice within and outside faith communities.
A longtime JRC partner, Father Boyle has led many sold out retreats and is a popular speaker and presenter throughout the United States. The author of four best-selling books with a fifth book soon to be published, Father Boyle is also the recipient of several humanitarian awards including the California Peace Prize granted by the California Wellness Foundation, and the Lifetime Achievement Award from MALDEF.
The $50 Registration is required to attend “An Evening with Father Boyle” and opens on June 1.
