Fr. Chi Ngo, S. J. , Executive Director
Fr. Chi is an experienced spiritual director in the Spiritual Exercises and has given numerous retreats and Ignatian spirituality workshops. He received training at The Guelph Centre of Spirituality in Ontario, Canada and was missioned to the Loyola Institute of Spirituality in Orange after Ordination, where he gave retreats and founded the 3-year Ignatian spiritual formation program. He has trained others in spiritual direction and the Spiritual Exercises over the past 2 decades. Prior to coming to The Jesuit Retreat Center in 2013, he served as the Formation Director for the California Province.

Dyane Hendricks has promoted non-profit organizations as a fundraiser and fun-raiser, writer, administrator and event planner for 20 years. She appreciates the opportunity to support the mission of JRC. A graduate of San Jose State University with a degree in Journalism, Dyane worked for several local newspapers before becoming a non-profit professional. She is an avid fan of baking, ballet and baseball.
Ms. Patti Guard, Communications and Marketing
A native of Cincinnati, OH, Patti Guard graduated from the Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s in Biology and an MBA from the University of Cincinnati. She has spent 30+ years in the Software industry in Silicon Valley. She’s held various positions, from sales to marketing to management. She has been on staff at The JRC since December 2015. If you stop by to meet Patti, you’ll also meet her office-mate Oso, her faithful Labrador Retriever. Oso says he’s always available for treats and walks, should you so desire.
Ms. Angela Zavala, Reservations
Ms. Angela is a native of San Jose. Her parents are from Mexico and Honduras and Angela grew up speaking both English and Spanish. She is currently working toward her B.A. in Accounting at San Jose State University. Just one more semester to go! She’s been on staff since August 2016 and is the primary contact for all reservations.
Ms. Rosemary Generali, Accounting
Rosemary Generali has worked in the accounting field for over 25 years. She worked as a corporate employee until her daughter was born and then she became an independent contractor, so she could stay home with her daughter. As an independent contractor, she has worked with various types of clients, including strategic management consultants, software and web developers, general contractors, electronics manufacturers, solar energy firms and non-profit companies. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy and is a QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor.
Ms. Mary McCarthy, Bookstore
Mary McCarty, a native of Southern California, studied Classics at UC Santa Barbara, earning a B.A in 1974, M.A. in 1976 and Secondary Teaching Credential through Cal State Los Angeles in 1978. She worked at St. Ignatius College Preparatory, San Francisco for 34 years, teaching Latin and assisting on student retreats. Since her retirement from S.I. she has managed the bookstore at the Jesuit Retreat Center for over 4 years.
Mr. Kris Holland, Site Director
Kris grew up at camp settings. His father was a Youth Minister and ran the Community of the Great Commission in Foresthill CA. After graduating high school in 1973 in Oakland, Kris worked in a family business, “Karis Candles” for 17 years, and then started working for United Camps, Conferences and Retreats (UCCR) in 1989. He site-managed four different camps prior to assuming these responsibilities at The Jesuit Retreat Center of Los Altos.
Sue Bricker-Holland, Associate Site Director
Sue grew up in Spokane WA. and graduated from Shadle Park High School in 1975. She attended Spokane Fall Community College for two years and worked at Clinkerdaggers Restaurant as head trainer for 15 years before joining UCCR. She worked with UCCR for 18 years at 5 different sites with her husband, Kris.
