- The Retreat Center is governed by a corporate Board of Directors
of five Jesuit members, with ordinary governance delegated to the
Executive Director. An Advisory
Board of eighteen members,
most lay women and men, assists the Board of Directors and the Executive
Director in guiding and sustaining the ministry of El Retiro.
- The ongoing work of the Retreat Center has two major aspects,
Pastoral and Operations.
- Eight resident Jesuits constitute the core Pastoral Staff. Their
spiritual ministry is shared by guest directors and retreat assistants,
Jesuit, religious, and lay, men and women. Our regular partners
in the ministries of the Exercises and spiritual direction number
over forty.
- Eight lay people constitute the core Operations
Staff. They work with twenty other full-time employees, and
a number of adjuncts and volunteers, to care for our El Retiro retreatants
and guests through the ministries of administration (including scheduling,
fund-raising and marketing), housekeeping, food services, maintenance,
and groundskeeping.
